Do you remember the movie HER that was shot with Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Spike Jones? In that movie, the character played by Joaquin was heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, and he becomes intrigued with a new advanced operating system which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right individual to each user. Can you smell the AI mystery here? Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet Samantha who's played by Scarlett Johansson, a bright female voice who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual and unconventional love for each other. I bring this up because clearly Spike Jones was ahead of his time. This movie came out in 2014. So let's flash forward to today. Recently, I started playing with ChatGPT. It's an AI language model that learns to understand natural language. It's been a hot topic on LinkedIn and Instagram. So I thought I'd crash the party and have a coffee chat with the ChatGPT bot. I'm serious. I had a coffee chat. This is the most fun I've had. All right, ready for it with anBOTy? I know. Just humor me. All right. You know you love the joke. Okay, here's how it went and where it went wrong. I asked is Coffee Culture the best podcast? And here's a snippet of the response. ChatGPT said, I'm not sure as it depends on what you're looking for in a coffee podcast. Coffee Culture with Holly Shannon is a podcast that focuses on the specialty coffee industry, featuring interviews with some of the most innovative and inspiring people in the field. The host Holly Shannon is a coffee professional with over 15 years of experience in the industry. And her podcast offers an in depth look at the latest trends and developments in specialty coffee. So I'd say that ChatGPT was on point, except for the 15 years of experience in the coffee industry. So it's best to fact check right? Especially with AI. Then I asked would ChatGPT want to be interviewed for a podcast for this podcast. And his response was as a language model. I do not have preferences or feelings. So I wouldn't be able to express if I want or not to be interviewed for a podcast. But as a chatbot. I'm always here to help you with any information you need on coffee, coffee culture, or any other topic. I pressed Yes, pardon the pun and asked so you don't drink coffee then. And his response was as a language model. I don't have the ability to drink or consume anything including coffee. I am a computer program designed to process and understand natural language. However, I can provide you with information and answer any questions you have about coffee. I relented, the poor bot was trying so hard. And I asked what's the best title for these questions? And his answer was exploring the capabilities and language and have a language model ChatGPT I'm being interviewed for a podcast. I have to say I might take ChatGPT on a coffee date. So my question to you coffee lovers, have you used AI technology? I realize I'm not asking coffee questions, but I'm sure you'll grant me creative liberty. Thanks
