The Story behind the

Culture Factor NFTS

The house fire started when…

I unplugged my lamp. Admittedly, it was an old lamp. But the molten copper that shot out of the socket was from new electrical and was the cause.

It upended our lives. I safely got everyone out of the house. But, we will forever be defined as before fire and after fire. Part of that aftermath was my jewelry business. I needed to pack up the studio which survived damage. I now needed to focus my time on rebuilding our home and keeping up with my 5-year old.

Yes, I did try to resurrect the business when I was done rebuilding our lives. But it was not the same. In time, I moved on.

Flash forward to a new era in business. Blockchain, NFTs and Metaverse are in our vernacular and they weren't before. Is it possible to preserve the legacy of my jewelry designs on the Blockchain? Is it possible to move my 3D printed jewelry into the Metaverse as wearables?

Enter the Franklins, Elizabeth and Jason came on my podcast, Culture Factor. Producing a show was one of the many ways I pivoted and reinvented myself after the fire. But I honestly hadn’t thought of my jewelry except in the off idea that the Metaverse might see my pieces again one day.

Elizabeth and Jason created their own collection, the Dreamy Geeks. As the artist side of their NFT collection, she created a lightness and fun look to their NFTs.

We decided to collaborate and create a small generative collection of NFTs that reflect my podcast and my jewelry designs! My legacy lives out in the characters she created wearing my jewelry and representing my podcast. My honeycomb collection that I created using 3D printing, the hummingbird and scarab beetle using precious metal clay, the butterfly using lost wax casting. A complete history of my craft in the jewelry being worn by my Culture Factor NFTs!

If the Culture Factor NFTS find their way to your profile picture, your collection, or just your heart then maybe that jewelry will become a wearable in the Metaverse one day. We can dream together. I’m not building road maps or utility, I’m simply sharing my story and my art with you with the help of the Franklins.

It’s fascinating to me the journey I’ve taken from that house fire onto the blockchain. My jewelry has a life again and you’re along for the ride. Thank you for collecting, preserving my legacy and sharing my story.
